Part:BBa_K4773014
J23100 Promoter+RBS+hps+RBS+phi+Term
This part is a gene combination consisting of hps and phi, which can degrade formaldehyde, a toxic and carcinogenic compound, to formate and hydrogen peroxide. hps is a hexulose-6-phosphate synthase from Bacillus subtilis, which can condense formaldehyde and ribulose-5-phosphate to form hexulose-6-phosphate. phi is a phosphohexuloisomerase from Bacillus subtilis, which can isomerize hexulose-6-phosphate to fructose-6-phosphate. The part also contains a strong bacterial ribosome binding site (RBS) (BBa_B0034) before each gene to ensure efficient translation. A double terminator (BBa_B0015) is added at the end of the part to prevent read-through transcription and ensure the stability of the mRNA.
